This project is located on the site of a former car sales garage which has historically had numerous commercial and industrial uses. It is proposed to provide 270 bedrooms of quality student accommodation close to Anglian Ruskin University and Cambridge City Centre.
HWA provided an Engineering Site Appraisal to help identify potential development risk items to inform cost planning and budgeting as the purchase of the site was agreed. This covered an initial review of the site ground conditions, potential transport implications and flood risk elements.
To accompany the Planning Application HWA provided Transport Assessment and Travel Plan services, a detailed ground investigation to establish environmental ground conditions and geotechnical parameters and drainage strategy advice to conform to the sustainability requirements of Cambridge City Council.
Scheme design has progressed with the project team to a coordinated RIBA Stage 2 to inform cost planning and programming for the project once Planning Approval is gained.
